On the back of the display assembly, we'll be dealing with various labeled parts. There's a metal tray surrounding the LCD screen device. There is the data port where the data cable connects to the LCD screen; this connection is covered by foil tape. There's the inverter board below the LCD, which provides power to the backlight. There are several pieces of tape securing the metal tray, LCD, inverter, and data cable together.

Lastly, there's the laptop framing bracket holding the LCD in place. This bracket is made up of two metal parts on either side of the LCD device, connected to the laptop hinge and screwed into the front of the display assembly.

* Note: The sides of the metal tray fit exactly between the sides of the LCD screen and the laptop frame bracket. See the second picture (below) for closer detail.
